One is an international star, the other, an Indian phenomenon. Sparks flew when the two met. When Siddharth Kannan said, "Hello", Akon immediately guessed that he is a popular radio jockey. "Hey, are you a radio jockey?" Akon asked Kannan. "Now tell me this - when you play my songs, why do you only play Beautiful and Right Now? Why the hell do you not play my beautiful number, I'm So Paid?" Akon then showed his fist and said, "I'll knock you down if you do not play that number and make it popular within 24 hours!" Then he laughed out loud.

A lesser mortal may have had a nervous breakdown in the face of such an overwhelming personality, but not our Madrasi Kannan. Pat came his reply, "Yeh Dharam paaji ka haath hain...zyaada zor ki awaaz aayegi," as he shook his fist at Akon, too.

The acclaimed singer, who was here as Shah Rukh Khan's guest, thinks his trip to India was totally worth it. "The Indian land has showered all love and blessings on me, from both the entertainment and cricket fields. I feel privileged and lucky that I have received the goodwill of the Indians," gushed Akon at the IPL ceremony.
