inauguration
of
'Bharatratna
Pandit
Bhimsen
Joshi
Kaladalan',
an
art
complex
established
by
Pune
Municipal
Corporation,
for
honouring
late
singer
Pandit
Bhimsen
Joshi,
was
done
by
Maharashtra
chief
minister
Prithviraj
Chavan
on
Thursday.
The
minister,
on
this
auspicious
occasion
announced
that
the
state
government
will
start
a
classical
musical
scholarship
in
the
memory
of
the
legend
Bhimsen.
Earlier
Chavan
had
also
declared
a
classical
music
lifetime
achievement
awards,
with
Rs.
1
lakh
and
a
memento,
in
the
Panditji's
memory.
The
minister
was
quiet
impressed
with
the
work
of
PMC
on
the
memorial
of
Pandit
Bhimsen
Joshi
who
belonged
to
Karnataka,
but
chose
Pune
as
his
home
town.
The
minister
said
that
the
Kaladalan
is
a
real
presentation
of
the
classical
work
of
Bhimsen.

deputy
mayor

of
