Ismail
Darbar
has
spit
venom
against
AR
Rahman
once
again.
This
time,
he
has
accused
the
Mozart
of
Madras
of
bribing
the
Oscar
authorities
to
get
the
Academy
Award
for
his
compositional
Slumdog
Millionaire.
AR
Rahman
was
honoured
with
the
Oscar
Awards
in
2008
in
Best
Original
Song
and
Best
Original
Music
categories.
Speaking
to
Mid-day,
Ismail
complained
that
the
former
is
a
good
business
man,
who
knows
how
to
buy
the
awards.
Continuing
his
attack,
he
claimed
that
he
is
not
the
original
song
scorer
of
world
famous
'jai
ho..'.
Top
filmmakers
like
Subhash
Ghai
and
Mani
Ratnam
also
know
the
truth
about
it.
Recalling
the
earlier
instance,
where
his
Devdas
lost
to
Saathiya
in
the
Best
Music
Category
in
the
National
Awards,
he
told
Mid-day,
“First
of
all,
a
dubbed
movie
is
never
given
National
Awards.
Then,
how
did
Saathiya
get
it?
It
is
not
that
I
am
talking
now.
I
have
wanted
to
talk
about
this
forever.
It
is
just
that
no
one
ever
asked
me
about
it."
It
may
be
recalled
Ismail
Darbar
had
come
out
in
public
claiming
that
his
work
in
Hum
Dil
De
Chuke
Sanam
and
Devdas
were
better
than
AR
Rahman's
Taal
and
Saathiya.
The
former
had
also
accused
the
latter
of
influencing
the
National
Awards
jury
to
bag
the
award.
