The
voices
for
the
Bharat
Ratna
to
little
master
Sachin
Tendulkar
is
increasing
day
by
day.
The
latest
to
bat
for
it
is
none
other
than
Lata
Mangeshkar.
The
nightingale
of
India
has
said
that
she
wishes
the
batting
maestro
would
be
conferred
with
the
highest
civilian
award
soon.
Speaking
to
a
tabloid,
Lata
Mangeshkar
expressed
her
love
for
Sachin
Tendulkar.
But
she
agrees
that
the
cricketer
does
not
need
any
award
to
prove
himself.
She
further
adds
that
the
government
of
India
should
take
a
call
on
it.
"I
don't
think
Sachin
needs
any
honour
to
prove
himself.
Let
the
government
decide
when
it
wants
to
award
him.
Why
this
clamour?
It
makes
the
whole
thing
look
political",
The
Mid-Day
quoted
the
singer
as
saying.
It
may
be
recalled
that
people
from
various
quarters
have
opined
that
Sachin
Tendulkar
should
be
honoured
with
the
Bharat
Ratna
for
his
contribution
to
cricket.
In
fact,
the
Prime
Minister's
Office
has
also
recommended
his
name
for
the
award.
But
the
age
factor
has
temporarily
barred
him.
