"Bollywood does not have identity for its music. It has become more global with a pinch of pop, jazz and rock. In movies like Rock On, there was a rock kind of music, Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na had this jazz feel," the PTI quoted the music director as saying.
In the recent times, the only movies, which had the Indian brand of music was in Dabangg's item number 'munni badnaam hui...', and a few other films like Action Replayy and Once Upon A Time in Mumbai, claims the musician.
Recalling Bollywood's unique style, he further adds that the Hindi film industry had its flavour till 1990. Since then, it has been going through a changing phase. However, talking about his own style, Shamir Tandon says that he has been getting films like Ragini MMS, Traffic Signal etc., which demand something different from the regular kind of music.
Shamir Tandon of Page 3 fame has said that the music of Bollywood has lost its flavour these days. Its approach to appeal the global audience is the prime reason behind its losing identity.
