He was a poet par excellence and belonged to the Vaishnavite cult propagated by Saint Ramanuja in South India. Out of his many works, this is the only work in prose that covers the epic of Ramayana in one stretch. Moreover, this is recited in homes in traditional way and is believed to bless the listener with peace and prosperity.
Dushyanth Sridhar - the artist who has rendered this composition is a young scholar, twenty-six years old. Currently a resident of Mumbai, he works with a leading consultancy services firm. He is an alumnus of BITS, Pilani and completed his schooling in Bangalore and Chennai. He learnt Sanskrit and Tamil scriptures from young age and is presently trained in the higher Vedanta under illustrious scholars.
He has also learnt classical carnatic music. He is a regular speaker in leading Tamil television channels like Star Vijay, Doordarshan - Podhigai and Sankara, to name a few where he discourses on Hindu scriptures. As on date he has rendered over six hundred discourses worldwide and has many albums to his credit.
