Washington (ANI): Palm Pictures will be bringing a documentary about late Bob Marley"s family"s first trip to Ethiopia to the big screen after acquiring the rights to it. The film 'Africa Unite" is based on the 2005 event led by Rita Marley, the singer"s widow, and includes a 12-hour concert attended by 300,000 people.

The documentary will contain rare footage of Marley in performance, as well as corresponding footage of his family performing his songs at the Africa Unite concert. Palm will distribute "Africa Unite" theatrically this winter, with a DVD release early next year, reports Variety. Executive producer on the pic Danny Glover said that it was important to bring the film to light, as it is an effort to serve African people in Marley's spirit.

Danny Glover"s production company and the event itself are involved with Unicef. "Africa Unite" will take place in South Africa this year.
