Palm
Pictures
will
be
bringing
a
documentary
about
late
Bob
Marley"s
family"s
first
trip
to
Ethiopia
to
the
big
screen
after
acquiring
the
rights
to
it.
The
film
'Africa
Unite" is
based
on
the
2005
event
led
by
Rita
Marley,
the
singer"s
widow,
and
includes
a
12-hour
concert
attended
by
300,000
people.
The
documentary
will
contain
rare
footage
of
Marley
in
performance,
as
well
as
corresponding
footage
of
his
family
performing
his
songs
at
the
Africa
Unite
concert.
Palm
will
distribute
"Africa
Unite"
theatrically
this
winter,
with
a
DVD
release
early
next
year,
reports
Variety.
Executive
producer
on
the
pic
Danny
Glover
said
that
it
was
important
to
bring
the
film
to
light,
as
it
is
an
effort
to
serve
African
people
in
Marley's
spirit.
Danny
Glover"s
production
company
and
the
event
itself
are
involved
with
Unicef.
"Africa
Unite"
will
take
place
in
South
Africa
this
year.
