Washington
(ANI):
Britney
Spears
will
soon
be
shifting
homes
after
snapping
up
a
nine
million
dollar
French
country
estate
in
Beverly
Hills.
The
singer
recently
sold
off
the
Malibu
home
she
shared
with
former
husband
Kevin
Federline,
and
closed
the
deal
on
her
new
home.
And
Britney
will
certainly
be
living
in
style
for
the
8,500
square
foot
estate
comes
with
seven
bedrooms,
six
bathrooms
and
a
gourmet
kitchen,
reports
Usmagazine.
The
singer"s
new
home
also
comes
equipped
with
a
pool,
spa
and
lush
grounds.
In
the
meanwhile,
Britney
is
still
recuperating
from
the
backlash
of
her
panned
performance
at
this
year"s
MTV
Video
Music
Awards.
Spears
kicked
off
the
VMAs
with
a
lip-synched
three-minute
show
opening
performance
of
her
latest
track
"Gimme
More" on
Sept
9,
2007.
However,
her
attempt
to
show
that
she"s
still
got
rhythm
backfired
as
she
could
hardly
keep
time
to
the
music
and
by
the
end
wasn't
even
synchronising
with
the
words
of
her
own
song.
While
the
singer,
wearing
nothing
but
a
sparkly
black
bikini
and
ill-fitting
blond
weave,
sang,
fellow
artists
in
the
audience
started
rolling
their
eyes.
The
New
York
Post
commented
that
the
act
was
"Totally
lame,
pathetically
lip-synched",
the
New
York
Times
said:
"She
didn't
disappoint;
she
was
awful",
with
Barbara
Walters
and
Whoopi
Goldberg
added
comments
like
"The
lip-synching
didn't
work" and
"She
looks
like
she
doesn't
care.
This
is
like
a
bad
stripper."
X
factor
judge
Simon
Cowell
fears
that
Britney
Spears"
career
may
be
finished
thanks
to
her
disastrous
comeback
at
the
MTV
Video
Music
Awards
recently.
Cowell
ripped
into
Britney"s
performance
left,
right
and
centre,
and
added
that
had
he
been
supervising
the
pop
star,
he
would
have
never
allowed
her
to
perform
on
stage.
“If
I
had
been
looking
after
Britney
I"d
have
taken
one
look
at
her
in
rehearsals
and
I
wouldn"t
have
allowed
her
on
stage.
It
would
have
been
worth
pulling
her
off
the
bill
—
no
matter
what
the
cost
—
to
save
any
chance
she
had
of
resurrecting
her
career,"
The
Sun
quoted
him,
as
saying.
“She
wasn"t
ready
for
that
show
in
every
possible
way.
The
song
wasn"t
right,
the
image
wasn"t
right
and
she
just
wasn"t
rehearsed,"
he
added.
Cowell,
who
has
made
his
fortune
from
guiding
the
careers
of
pop
singers,
further
gnarled
that
he
would
have
definitely
thrown
the
'Toxic"
singer
out
if
her
performance
had
been
an
audition
for
his
ITV1
show.
“If
she
had
turned
up
and
given
that
performance
at
the
X
Factor
auditions
then
I
wouldn"t
have
put
her
through
to
the
next
round,"
he
said.
“The
problem
she
has
now
is
that
she
could
have
killed
her
career.
It"s
difficult
to
come
back
from
that
performance,
for
a
while
at
least,"
he
added.
Britney"s
live
performance
of
her
new
song
'Gimme
More"
on
Sep
9
has
been
panned
thoroughly.
