London (ANI): It seems that Britney Spears has decided to offer her ex-hubby Kevin Federline a hefty amount to gain joint custody of her two sons. The pop star planned to make the move after K-Fed banned her from attending her youngest son Jayden James' birthday party. The singer's pals say that Spears wants to solve the tussle before the rapper digs up dirt on her to ensure that she loses the custody of their kids.

"She is a caring devoted mum despite her Toxic' star. The kids mean the world to her. However she has finally come to terms with the fact that the way things are heading, she is going to lose them," News of the World quoted her friends as saying. "She is absolutely petrified at that thought—and she knows she will not win full custody. So she has decided to reach a compromise with Kevin where she will have most custody." "She realises that she did go wild, often leaving the children with the nanny to go out partying and it doesn't reflect well on her."

"Her breakdown will be used against her. And she's also worried that sleazy details of her sex life and alleged drug taking will emerge if there is a court hearing." "If he got custody it would mean massive sums in child maintenance and that is what Britney thinks he is after." "She thinks if she gives him a wad of dollars he can go take it and knock himself out," the friends added. A source close to her also claimed that the 'Toxic' star was very upset when she wasn't invited for her son's birthday bash. However, her parents and her sister were invited for the celebrations.

"It was a terrible day for Britney. But instead of going out clubbing to try to escape her problems as she has done in the past, she stayed at home crying all night." Later the same week, it was her first son Sean Preston's second birthday. The pal adds that the singer fears she is being sidelined. "She feels she is being sidelined by her family. And she won't let that happen."

Britney Spears is not yet over the MTV VMAs debacle, but she already has another humiliation to deal with – being banned from LA's exclusive Chateau Marmont hotel. The pop singer was told she was not welcome at the celebrity hotspot after a string of complaints about her 'odd' behaviour. As to what this 'odd behaviour' was, well it seems that Britney smeared a plate of top-notch food over her face while dining at the hotel, leaving other diners stunned.

The diners were so shocked and outraged by Britney's antics, that they demanded management show the singer the door. "The diners were disgusted. You wouldn't expect that from a teenager in a fast-food joint. Royalty have dined in this restaurant. Her behaviour was totally unacceptable," The Sun quoted a source, as saying.

Another source reveals: "Staff at the Chateau have been told she is not welcome. She constantly looked out of it when she came in and the guests began to make noises. The hotel acted before she made a huge scene. "No one wants to be banned from staying at the Chateau. "If she was trying to make a real go of her comeback then the people who visit the Chateau are the ones who could make it happen."
