Jason Alexander, ex-husband of troubled popstar Britney Spears, has warned that she could have a similar fate to the late model Anna Nicole Smith. Britney married her childhood friend Jason at The Little White Wedding Chapel on the Las Vegas strip in January 2004. Their marriage lasted a total of 55 hours before the nuptials were annulled. Following reports of Britney checking herself into and out of rehab, Jason has expressed fears that the 25-year-old singer could end up like the late model and actress Anna Nicole Smith, who died earlier this month, aged 39. The cause of death is still unknown. Speaking to the Sunday Mirror about Britney's radical new hairstyle, he said: "It freaked me out when I saw she had shaved off her hair that was clearly a cry for help. The pictures have become increasingly disturbing." He added: "I have never said anything about Britney and drugs before but I am very, very concerned about her. I am really worried that she will wind up like Anna Nicole Smith and be found dead."

The solution to her problems? Jason thinks she needs to go back to her roots. "She needs to knock herself down from the pedestal she thinks she is on and remember that she's just an old country girl. She needs a break from Hollywood," he said. Commenting on recent rumours that the Toxic singer has been binging on drugs, he said: "She definitely had a problem with drugs when we were together and that was three years ago."Britney is currently in rehab after reportedly leaving two centres last week.

Britney Spears is "doing great" in rehab, according to actor Daniel Baldwin. Daniel, 46, claims he bumped into the troubled 'Toxic' singer at Malibu's Promises rehab centre when he was leaving the facility after completing his own treatment for drug addictions. Daniel - the brother of Hollywood stars Alec, William and Stephen - told Us Weekly magazine: "I told her if she needed anything or if she wanted me to bring anything to her where she's at, I'd be happy to come see her. She's doing great, she looks great. She seemed like she was a little fearful. I mean, she's a young girl - I have kids older than her. I think that she knows that she needs some help, and God bless her. All we can do is pray. That's what I want people to do - pray for her."

Daniel gave mum-of-two Britney, 25, his mobile number so she could keep in touch, and told the star "don't drink, don't use". He added: "It's really simple. One thing I mentioned to her is if you took a look at how much effort you put into going out - at least for me - and using and doing the things we do, compared to how much effort you need to put in to stay sober, it's infinitesimal on a comparison basis." Daniel - who was arrested in April on charges of being under the influence and carrying cocaine paraphernalia - said he has now been sober for 97 days.
