Pop superstar Kylie Minogue pocketed a whopping $9 million in the year-long break she took from the music industry in 2005 to battle cancer - almost doubling her earnings from the previous year.
'The Can't Get You Out Of My Head' hitmaker was diagnosed with breast cancer in May 2005 and subsequently took a year out of her career to receive treatment for the disease. But in her time away from the spotlight, the pop princess still managed to make an income of $5.26 million from other business ventures, in addition to her salary of $3.7 million from worldwide record sales.
The accounts of her firm Darenote revealed the company made profits of $285,614 in the year April 2005 to March 2006. Minogue is currently recording her comeback album after successfully beating breast cancer last year.
