Montag, Pratt upgrade their recession proof wedding rings

New York (ANI): Singer Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt have upgraded their 'recession proof' wedding rings to get themselves the traditional sparklers. The Hills stars had been wearing 9-dollar bands apparently made of plastic with Pratt dubbing them as their recession hit bands.

"These are recession proof. This is an economy ring," the New York Daily News quoted Pratt as telling E! Online a week before he upgraded his band.

The 25-year-old had bought his wife an amethyst ring from Ice Accessories at his local mall before going down on his news last year. The couple had eloped to Mexico to tie the knot on November 20, but the marriage is yet to be legal, since the two had failed to obtain the requisite marriage license before their ceremony.
