London
(ANI):
Mariah
Carey's
new
hubby
Nick
Cannon
has
dashed
her
dreams
of
having
a
grand
wedding
ceremony
following
the
low-key
recently.
According
to
sources,
the
38-year-old
sexy
singer's
original
plans
included
a
sumptuous
2
million
dollars
wedding.
But
all
Mariah's
no-expense-spared
arrangements
went
out
of
the
window
when
her
rapper
husband
said
it
was
his
way
-
a
no-nonsense
do
-
or
the
highway.
The
couple,
who
had
only
been
dating
for
six
weeks,
tied
the
knot
in
a
sunset
ceremony
at
Mariah's
Caribbean
home
last
month.
"Mariah
had
planned
an
incredibly
lavish
do
-
with
white
doves,
a
pink
carpet,
thousands
of
orchids
and
a
huge
wedding
breakfast
banquet," the
Mirror
quoted
a
source,
as
saying.
"She'd
also
booked
the
Oak
Room
at
the
Plaza
Hotel,
where
Catherine
Zeta-Jones
and
Michael
Douglas
held
their
nuptials.
That
wouldn't
have
come
cheap
-
and
she'd
have
to
pay
exorbitant
cancellation
fees.
"Everything
down
to
the
song
choice
-
she
wanted
to
perform
and
dedicate
a
number
to
Nick
-
had
been
arranged.
"Nick
loves
Mariah
for
who
she
is
and
doesn't
give
a
toss
about
showbiz
antics.
He
wanted
them
to
get
married
as
soon
as
possible,
with
no
fuss,"
the
source
added.
In
order
to
keep
her
marriage
plans
secret,
American
pop
singer
Mariah
Carey
had
told
pals
that
wedding
with
rapper
beau
Nick
Cannon
was
just
a
video
shoot.
The
38-year-old
singer
convinced
everyone
the
couple
were
just
shooting
extra
scenes
for
the
video
Bye
Bye,
when
they
went
off
to
her
Windermere
home
with
just
four
pals.
"We
only
told
people
who
had
to
know...
If
we
brought
a
million
people
with
us,
it
would've
been
obvious
we
weren't
shooting
a
video,"
Contactmusic
quoted
Carey
as
telling
People.
"Only
about
four
people
knew
we
were
going
down
there
to
get
married,"
she
added.
The
couple
also
took
with
them
boxes
of
Maine
lobster
and
cases
of
Dom
Perignon
champagne
over
to
the
island,
with
Carey
reportedly
picking
up
the
wedding
cake
herself.
Carey
and
Cannon
exchanged
vows
on
30
April
(08).
