London (ANI): Auctioneers were left "shocked and stunned" when a silent two-and-a-half-minute film of The Beatles, which was expected to fetch up to 12,000 pounds, failed to sell. The 8mm colour film, shot in 1964 during the band''s tour of Scotland, is believed to be unique. However, the lot failed to meet its reserve price of 4,800 pounds at the sale of music and entertainment memorabilia.

The event was held by Cameo Auctioneers, reports the Scotsman. The rare footage was the most expensive lot going under the hammer in Midgham, Berkshire. The film features clips of the band and their entourage at the Four Seasons Hotel in St Fillans on the banks of Loch Earn. They stayed for two nights in October to play a show in Dundee, having travelled from a gig in Edinburgh.
