Calendar Girls invited to take show to Middle East
London (ANI): Musical Calendar Girls has received an invitation to take their show to the Middle East next year. According to Mandrake, the new cast, which includes Jerry Hall, Anita Dobson, Jill Halfpenny and June Brown, were invited by the Atlantis Palm Resort in Dubai and theatres around the United Arab Emirates to spend four weeks there in March.
"It's a little bit surreal. We have had two approaches to take this show to the Arab Emirates and to Dubai," the Telegraph quoted David Pugh, one of the two producers, as saying.
"They want us to play in the big hotels out there - sort of in the way that Derek Nimmo and his troupe used to."I don't know how we would do it with the nudity due to the strict dress codes out there though. It might well require extra costumes. Are we going to use burkas?" he said.
