London
(ANI):
A
jewelled
glove
once
worn
by
michael
jackson
has
fetched
49,000
dollars
at
an
auction
in
Melbourne.
The
late
King
of
Pop
threw
the
crystal-encrusted
white
glove
into
a
crowd
after
a
film
premiere,
while
visiting
Australia
in
1996.
The
glove,
worn
by
Jackson
on
the
day
of
his
wedding,
was
caught
by
the
late
music
collector
Bill
Hibble,
whose
mother
placed
it
under
the
hammer.
It
fetched
nearly
twice
the
expected
amount
when
bought
by
the
Hard
Rock
Hotel
and
Casino
in
Las
Vegas,
auction
house
Bonhams
and
Goodman
said.
"There
was
a
huge
amount
of
interest
in
the
week
leading
up
to
the
sale.
We
were
still
pretty
surprised
by
the
price," the
BBC
quoted
Charlotte
Stanes
of
the
auction
house
as
saying.
Jackson
was
finally
laid
to
rest
after
he
died
of
a
lethal
cocktail
of
prescription
drugs
on
June
25.
The
Los
Angeles
coroner
ruled
that
Jackson"s
death
as
homicide.
