London (ANI): Lucy O"Donnell, the woman who inspired the Beatles tune, "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" has passed away at the age of 46. John Lennon wrote the psychedelic song after his son Julian drew a picture of childhood friend Lucy, and told his dad, "That's Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds."

O'Donnell passed away after a battle with lupus, an autoimmune disease, the St. Thomas' Lupus Trust charity said. Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds featured on the Sgt. Pepper"s Lonely Hearts Club Band album in 1967, reports The Times. The real Lucy disliked the song because “I don"t feel I can relate to it. I just don"t like it. I don"t see a four-year-old kid running around with kaleidoscopic eyes. It doesn"t make sense."

She met Julian in Weybridge, Surrey, where the family recall he would be dropped off at Heath House nursery school in a Rolls-Royce. She went to St Mawes school in Weybridge, college in Guildford and later moved to Surbiton.

Julian, also 46, and his mom Cynthia (Lennon''s first wife) are said to be "shocked and saddened by the loss of Lucy."
