Mariah Carey refuses to record during the day

Washington (ANI): Mariah Carey has apparently left producers scratching their heads after refusing to record her new album during daylight hours. The singer, also known for her diva tantrums, is presently laying down tracks for her new record ''Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel''.

And the Hero hitmaker has been insisting on recording her new LP at night only. "In the studio… driving the engineer crazy cos I'm a control freak and once again we''re STARTING at 1:16 am..perfectly normal: ) (sic)" Contactmusic quoted her saying on her Twitter page in the early hours of June 10.

The 40-year-old updated her status two hours later, saying she was still working on the track. Referring to her decision to sing all backing vocals on the track, she wrote: "still in the studio. Hopefully I''ll finish this one tonite. It has a lot of bv''s and I''m doing them but you know I like that mess. (sic)"

Mariah finally called it quits at about 4.15am, when she headed to her kitchen to spend time with her dogs.
