Nick, Vanessa on the verge of splitting

New York (ANI): American pop singer Nick Lachey's romance with former MTV VJ Vanessa Minnillo is apparently going through a rough patch. According to sources, the couple are on the rocks big time. They argue all the time, and Nick is done with her. He feels like she's holding him back, careerwise.

Minnillo was recently seen storming out of an Los Angeles restaurant with an angry face, while Lachey chased her in embarrassment. After the pictures came out, Nick told friends, “They weren't fighting about their relationship, that it was just Vanessa going through a tough time personally," the New York Daily News quoted a source as saying.

“But we're just not sure if we believe that anymore. The relationship has been over for a while, but he's too nice a guy to end things completely," the source added.

The 35-year-old singer's career isn't as hot as it used to be, and even his latest single 'Patience' has failed to crack the pop charts. Lachey's pals say that in order to launch a comeback, he needs to dump Minnillo.

However, Minnillo's rep has denied any trouble. “They're fine none of this is true," said the rep. Lachey's rep also says: “To my knowledge, everything is great with them."
