You may be wondering why American singer Katy Perry and her fiance Russell Brand chose India for their wedding. Well, it looks like they intentionally chose the venue to keep away from excessive media glare and paparazzi in the West.

It seems the celebrity couple tried to mislead the media from the very start by giving wrong information about their arrival in India. The news spread that they would land Jaipur airport by Indian Airlines, flight IC 611 at 4.05pm. Then a look-alike of Katy Perry and Russell Brand were spotted at the airport with their face covered. But the real couple reached Jaipur by Spice Jet, flight SG 344 at 7.30pm.

As if that was not enough, the luxury jungle retreat Aman-e-Khas in Ranthambore, where the celebrity couple will exchange wedding vows, has turned into a fortress with private security personnel cordoning off the whole area. All the entrances to the resort have been blocked. It is said that the locals have been asked not to share the details of the wedding to the media.

Katy Perry and Russell Brand will wed this weekend, October 23, and it will continue till 26th October. They will be wearing traditional Indian jewellery during the wedding. It is said that they have even asked a Hindu priest to bless them in true Indian style.

Friends and families of the couple, including celebrities, are expected to fly down to India for the wedding. Several hotels in Rathambore have been booked for the same. Even the safari ride at the Rathambore National Park is expected to increase in the next couple of days because of the wedding.

American singer and songwriter Katy Perry got engaged to comedian Russell Brand on 6th January this year before finally deciding to tie the knot.
