Preparations
for
the
next
Olympic
Games
to
be
held
in
London
have
already
begun
and
while
the
games
are
an
important
part
of
the
preparations,
it
is
the
return
of
the
Spice
Girls
that
is
being
more
talked
about.
A
statement
about
the
all-girl
British
band
being
a
part
of
the
opening
ceremony
in
the
next
Olympics
was
made
at
the
end
of
the
previous
year,
and
now
Mel
C,
one
of
the
members,
has
called
for
support
from
all
Spice
Girls
fans
in
Britain.
According
to
reports,
Mel
C
has
called
upon
the
fans
to
petition
for
the
band
so
that
she
may
be
successful
in
bringing
the
band
together
for
the
2012
Olympic
Games
to
be
held
in
London.
Previously
it
was
band
manager,
Simon
Fuller,
who
had
shown
much
interest
in
bringing
the
girls
together
to
kick
start
the
competition
in
2012,
and
now
it
is
one
of
his
girls
themselves.
The
Spice
Girls
comprising
Victoria
Beckham,
Emma
Bunton,
Geri
Halliwell,
Melanie
Brown
and
Melanie
Chisholm
are
undoubtedly
one
of
the
most
popular
bands
in
the
history
of
British
music
and
it
was
keeping
this
fact
in
mind
that
the
organizers
of
the
Olympic
Games
could
not
think
of
a
better
name
to
perform
at
the
opening
ceremony.
Though
nothing
is
official
as
of
yet,
the
reports
doing
the
rounds
in
the
British
media
claim
that
since
Mel
C
has
shown
interest,
the
other
four
girls
are
expected
to
agree
to
perform
together
in
2012.
The
last
time
that
the
world
got
to
see
them
together
on
the
stage
was
in
February
2008.
