Justin, Eminem sweeps away Billboard music awards

One of the biggest award ceremonies in the world, the Billboard music awards 2011 took place on May 22 in Las Vegas. Most of the awards were swept away by the talented rapper Eminem and the new face of teen pop Justin Beiber, leaving just a few for the rest. Beiber bagged a total of six awards, which included Fan Favourite, Digital Artist, New Artist, Digital Media Artist and Pop Album but Eminem landed the most prestigious awards such as Artist of the Year, Male Artist of the Year and Rap Album (Recovery) and Rap Song (I Love the Way You Lie).

Talyor Swift opened the night by winning Album Artist of the Year and two more awards. Taio Cruz, Rihanna, Lady Gaga and British folk rockers Mumford and Sons bagged three awards apiece while Katy Perry, Train and Usher picked up two awards each.

Rihanna and Britney Spears opened the night with a sexy duet while Beyonce, winner of the Billboard Millennium award, performed a new song entitled “Run The World (girls)". Green astonished the crowd with their hits while Black Eyed Peas played an energetic 5 minute set. Later, Britney Spears took the stage again with Nicki Minaj to a short performance of their “Till The World Ends" remix .

The billboard music awards was hosted by the hangover star Ken Jeong with other performances by Keith Urban, Pitbull and Ne-Yo, Taio Cruz and Neil Diamond, winner of the Billboard icon Award.
