Lady Gaga faces lawsuit over charity wristband

By Raymond Ronamai

Controversial singer Lady Gaga is in the news for all the wrong reasons again. She has designed wristbands to help the victims of the Japanese tsunami/earthquake by selling them to her fans. However, an Attorney from Michigan has filed a lawsuit against the singer, alleging that she had pocketed some amount by overcharging fans for shipping costs.

“While we commend Lady Gaga for her philanthropic efforts, we want to ensure that claims that 'all proceeds will be donated to Japan"s earthquake relief efforts' are in fact true. Our intention with this lawsuit is to uncover any improprieties committed by Lady Gaga and appropriate the full donations assumed to the victims in Japan," Contactmusic quoted Alyson Oliver, partner of the 1-800-Law-Firm, as saying.

Lady Gaga was earlier commended by the Japanese officials for her efforts in helping the victims of the recent natural calamity. The Poker Face singer was in the country to perform at the Mtv Music Video Aid Japan Show on Saturday (June 25).
