Lil Wayne gets stitched up after Skateboarding Accident

Rapper Lil Wayne has got stitched up for an injury from a skateboarding accident on Sunday, August 21. The 'Lollipop' hitmaker, who was rushed to the emergency room at the DePaul Health Center, got 9 stitches for the injury over his left eye. After getting treatment, he tweeted and thanked his fans for their concern.

On Sunday, Lil Wayne fell off his skateboard and bumped his head at a park near the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre. He was immediately taken to the hospital for treatment. Minutes after getting treatment, Lil took to his Twitter page to connect with his fans and tweeted, "The Lou was good but I busted my fuggin head at the sk8park! 9stitches! Gnarly gash over my left eye! Luv the people."

Hours after his first tweet, Lil Wayne left further wrote to assure his fans that he is doing fine. He wrote, "KC I'm on my way." He added, "Thx to u all for the concern but pls know that I will eventually take even harder falls if I wanna get better...and I will."

However, Lil Wayne is performing at the Spring Center in Kansas City, Missouri today (Tuesday, August 23). The rapper is also scheduled to perform at 2011 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, August 28 in Los Angeles. He will release his long-awaited album 'Tha Carter IV' in digital stores immediately after the award show.
