Metallica cancels Delhi concert at F1 Rocks over safety concern

American heavy metal band Metallica has cancelled its first ever concert at F1 Rocks in Delhi. The band was to perform in the capital city on Friday, but it was forced to scrap the gig following the organisers" failure to maintain a security barricade in front of the stage, which could not be adequately repaired.

The band members of Metallica, who arrived in Delhi on Friday, were very excited to perform their first concert in India at the F1 Rocks. But the band was deeply upset to learn that there was a serious concern about safety of the concert audience. Metallica determined for the postponement of the show until Saturday.

But the promoters were unable to secure a permit for a show on Saturday on such a short notice. So Metallica held a press conference at a hotel near the venue on Friday afternoon and announced cancelling their Delhi concert. Now, DNA Network is looking into the process for full refunds.

However, four top officials from the organising company have been arrested on Saturday on charges of cheating and breach of trust, police said. DNA Nerworks" officer Jagdish Prasad said that they were arrested under section 406 (breach of trust) and 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code.
