Selena Gomez to co-host MuchMusic Video Awards

Singer Selena Gomez has officially been selected as a co-host of 2011 MuchMusic Video Awards (MMVAs) for the upcoming 2011 celebration. The teen star is taking the stage of MuchMusic HQ in Toronto to perform for the first time at the Canadian prize-giving event to be held on June 19.

Selena Gomez is all excited about hosting the Canadian awards show. Talking about the event, the teen actress gushes, "I am thrilled and honored to host the 2011 MuchMusic Video Awards. I look forward to seeing all my Canadian fans and kicking off the summer together."

The Executive Producer of 2011 MMVAs, Sheila Sullivan says, "Selena Gomez is a bona fide star. Her films and TV show are seen around the world and her songs are topping the charts. Now, she brings her signature smile to the MMVAs stage where her fans are guaranteed to welcome her to the most exciting and loudest award show on earth ... don't worry Selena, we supply earplugs."

However, MuchMusic Video Awards are annual awards presented by the Canadian music video channel MuchMusic to honour the year's best music videos. Along with Selena, Lady Gaga will also be the musical guest on 2011 Awards show, which will air at 9 pm on Sunday, June 19.
