Simon Cowell signs up YouTube girl Heather Russell

The X Factor supremo, Simon Cowell is said to have signed up 10-year-old girl Heather Russell. It is said that the 51-year old music mogul was impressed by Canadian youngster's self-penned song Every Step Of The Way, which was posted on YouTube. He said that she was amazingly-talented from the first time he saw her.

Heather Russell is being hailed as the next Mariah Carey or Alicia Keys. According to sources, Simon Cowell also views her as a potential singer and songwriter. So he is planning to take her to higher level than another Canadian teen star Justin Bieber, who also became an internet sensation at the age of 12 through YouTube.

Heather Russell, who has long blonde hair and a pretty face, is also a talented pianist. She wrote her first song on the piano at eight. She posted her single 'Every Step of the Way' on YouTube in July 2010. This 2-minutes clip has already got her fame along with a mega-bucks contract. She says that she has been influenced by Prince, Justin Timberlake and Queen.

However, Heather appears with her father James in the YouTube track, which was posted on YouTube by her mother Monica Cidade a year ago. So far, it has got nearly 200,000 views. It has been appreciated by Hollywood couple Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore. Now, Grammy-winner Rob Fusari, who produced Lady Gaga's The Fame, has also been knocking at her door.
