Why does Katy Perry's dad cry at her performances?

Los Angeles: Singer Katy Perry's father Keith Perry, who seems to be very upset with her work, says that he gets emotional whenever he sees her perform because he feels people are loving and worshipping the wrong thing. On many occasion, the pastor kept weeping, while the crowd went gaga over her performance.

Katy is known for her hits like 'I kissed a girl' and Keith Perry, who is a pastor with wife Mary, is questioned about his daughter's profession. Talking to The Sun, he revealed his disappointment over Katy's performance. He said, "They ask how can I preach if I produce a girl who sang about kissing another girl."

Keith Perry cries at Katy's performances when he sees how devoted her fans are towards her. "I was at a concert of Katy's where there were 20,000 people. I'm watching this generation and they were going at it. It almost looked like church. I stood there and wept and kept on weeping and weeping. They're loving and worshipping the wrong thing," The Sun quoted him as saying.

Katy Perry was born in Santa Barbara, California to devout Pentecostal pastors Keith and Mary. As a child, Katy attended Christian schools and camps. She was incorporated into her parents' ministry, singing in the church between the ages of nine and seventeen. She grew up listening to gospel music. She began taking vocal lessons at the age of nine and continued until she was sixteen.
