Himesh Reshammiya gave at least two chartbusters - 'Ae Meri Zohrajabeen' and 'Yaad Sataye Teri' in producer Firoz Nadiadwala's last film Phir Hera Pheri. Hence it was imperative that he repeats for the same for the music in the enterprising producer's latest offering - Bollywood movie Fool N Final. The cast of the film boast of a Sunny Deol, Shahid Kapoor, Viveik Oberoi, Bipasha Basu and Ayesha Takia, Fool N Final is a film by choreographer turned director Ahmed Khan who earlier debuted with 'Lakeer'.
With number of dance hits behind him, least what is expected from the songs of Fool N Final is lavish choreography that gives hopes to elevate this soundtrack by Himesh Reshammiya and Sameer. Now that is actually the need of the situation since without a promise of some eye pleasing choreography, there is nothing else that can potentially lift this score by Reshammiya.
There are just four tracks in the entire album. Though it does raise an eyebrow, what really sounds threatening at the very face value is the presence of remix version of each of the tracks. There was a time when a remix version sounded like a good idea, but not anymore; especially when it is all mundane, routine and very much expected. Nevertheless one moves on to the album to check it out in entirety.
In current scenario it is a pleasant surprise to read the name of some other singer on an inlay card when an album is composed by Himesh Reshammiya. This is the reason why 'Tere Layee' starts on one-up when Kunal Ganjawala and Himani are the names that you read for the very first track. A racy track that isn't anything special lyrically, it is sheer rhythm, arrangements and some underground feel to the proceedings which makes 'Tere Layee' instantly catchy.
The beats are at just the right places while the mixing demonstrates some good effort that would have gone in making this song the highlight of the album. It actually turns out to be the one because this is the first and last time in the album when you actually enjoy a track thoroughly (except for those four minutes in the middle of the album when its padded-with-additional-beats-remix version arrives). While Kunal is spirited as usual, Himani, who is currently being utilized mainly by Himesh, does well yet again in her trademark husky rendition.
New find Hanif Shaikh croons 'Yeh Dooriyan' with a punch to give it that youthful edge. An average sounding track, it could probably have been elevated to a decent level if it was picturised on Emraan Hashmi but over here in Fool N Final it depends a lot on how it comes across on screen. The basic tune is nothing special and though the arrangements are done well to make it flow in a distinct western rhythm, one is not overtly kicked while hearing 'Yeh Dooriyan', neither in its original nor the 'remix versio'n.
One of the most inane tracks in the recent times comes in the form of 'Ek Kalsa' [whatever that means!]. With lyrics that go like 'Ek Kalsa, Do Kalsa, Teen Kalsa.....' and so on and so forth, it can be simply termed as a strange number for lack of any better reference. Supposed to be a love song, it starts with an annoying crooning of 'Ek Kalsa....' before Reshammiya debuts as a singer in the album with his rendition of 'Tere Bina Kya Meri Life Kya Sapna'.
There is absolutely no novelty in either the tune, arrangements or singing and the song threatens to fade into oblivion until and unless Ahmed Khan does something remarkably with this painful track. Just like the rest of the album, this track too is based on western rhythm though it truly misses spunk of any kind, even though it is followed by a similar sounding 'remix version'.
