Productions This movie is a sequel of Ko stars by Jiiva and Ajmal in the lead and directed by K V Anand. Ko movie is released on 2011 which became a blockbuster. The movie Producer Elred Kumar explains "The sequel of 'KO ' has been in my mind always. Bringing the same talents together in the same fold was very challenging. I happened to listen to a script narration by Sharath, formerly associated with Vishnuvardhan and Chakri of Billa 2.  The script and the pattern of narration inspired me a lot. Why not this as the sequel, I asked myself, and by the time he concluded the narration I made up my mind. Sequels need not necessarily be with the same cast and crew, the fulcrum is always the script and here I have identified the right script as the sequel to 'KO' my biggest hit. Bobby Simha the latest sensation plays the lead, Nikki Galrani play his pair while Prakash Raj sir plays what he is familiar with - a power packed role.

Ko 2 Critics Review

Filmibeat.com
Bobby Simha, who proved his versatality in movies like Jigarthanda and Urumeen, has selected yet another interesting script. The kind of script that usually ends up on the lap of an action hero. First half is slow as the film takes time to establish its characters. Thanks to a surprisingly good backstory and super-smart dialogues, the second half entertains you by keeping you hooked till the very end. Overall View: Though Ko 2 has a plot which is not new to Tamil cinema, what makes the film watchable is its relevance to today's political system and some intelligent writing by its director.

All the political and public issues handled in the film have a contemporary relevance. Liquor menace, farmers’ suicide, sand mafia, corporate getting huge tax benefits- everything discussed in the film are something that the society is facing every day. There are many claps worthy moments throughout the film. Watch out for the telephonic conversations scenes between the police officer (John Vijay) and the kidnapper and also the conversation between the Home Minister (Ilavarasu) and the hero is really a scream. Songs by Leon Jones are sweet to listen but their placement especially in the first half is little dampening. The youngster has done a wonderful job in re-recording. Verdict: You could not have asked for a better film during the elections season and the film is highly entertaining which will make you like it even if you are not interested at all in politics.

Generally, movies based on social issues and politicians always make good connect with audiences. This second instalment of KV Anand's intriguing thriller KO, is definitely not as classy as the first part but débutante director Sarath scores well with sharp dialogues and a happening second half, which makes it a decent political entertainer. Although the film moves at a leisure pace in the first half, director Sarath has keenly noticed all the current comical political scenarios in the state that he rightly incorporates them. Technically Leon James' songs and background scores are big boost for the film while cinematography and editing are just functional. Overall, Ko 2 is a decent political entertainer with a releavent message for the society.
Behindwoods
Bobby Simha playing the lead surely reflects sincerity in attempting to render a convincing performance. But somewhere due to his foreign pronunciations or out of track hero appeals (here and there) he makes the acceptance difficult. Few dialogues are very powerful but at the same time few dialogues mouthed by John Vijay should have been monitored as the intonation or the modulation is very poor. To cut to the point, one can appreciate Ko 2 only if he has the patience to sit through the entire film. The decision totally lies in the viewer’s hand and the command from the narrator is missing. Verdict: Strong second half makes Ko 2 watchable.
