Lingaa

Lingaa is an tamil action - dramatic movie direction by K S Ravikumar. The movie starring with Superstar Rajinikanth,  Sonakshi Sinha  and Anushka in lead roles.  Full Cast & Crew Story The story starts up with a flash back where in Raja Lingeshwaran(Rajinikanth) is a rightful heir to a famous dynasty that once ruled most parts of Southern India. Natives of that village follow whatever Raja Lingeshwaram says. Because of his urge to help the poor, his nobility makes him gain that priceless love of those villagers. Raja Lingeshwaran takes up the initiative and requests the Britishers to build a much needed dam that would serve well for the people. But his idea is opposed citing a political reason and hence he leads from the front and inspires each and every villager to take up the responsibility to build a dam for themselves without seeking help from the foreigners. And then movie comes to present, son of Raja Lingeshwaram, Lingaa goes back to the same village to avenge and fight for the villagers’ right who are still being treated like animals. How he completes his task at hand with the help of his friends forms the remaining story to be watched in big screen. But the makers confirmed that the film would be released on 12 December 2014, coinciding with Rajinikanth's birthday, which Rajinikanth also confirmed. The first look motion poster of the film would be released on Ganesh Chaturthi (29 August 2014). The movie gets  U certificate  from censor board on Nov 25th, 2014. Music A. R. Rahman  composed the soundtrack album and background score for the film. Singer S. P. Balasubrahmanyam has sung the introduction song, whose lyrics were written by Vairamuthu. Production On 28 April 2014, rumours suggested that the film would be titled Lingaa, which is also the name of Rajinikanth's second grandson. The following day, Ravikumar stated on Facebook that filming would commence soon. Ravikumar's assistant Pon Kumaran provided the script for the film. Rockline Venkatesh was announced as producer making it his third venture in Tamil after Dum (2003) and Majaa (2005). A. R. Rahman was confirmed as the music composer for the film. Rathnavelu(Randy) was later confirmed as the cinematographer. Sabu Cyril was confirmed to handle the art direction for the film. Samjith Mhd, who had worked with Ravikumar earlier in Policegiri (2013), was confirmed as the film's editor.
