Madha Gaja Raja(MGR) is an tamil Action - comedy movie direction by Sundar.c. The movie has Vishal Krishnan, Varalakshmi, Anjali, Santhanam and Arya doing guest appearance in this movie.

Production

Initially it was announced to Samantha Ruth Prabhu to do this movie. Hansika Motwani was approached to play the lead female role but could not sign the film due to unavailability of dates. Later Karthika Nair was roped in to essay the character of the love interest of Vishal, who was said to be playing a triple role for the first time in his career.

In a turn of events, Karthika opted out of the project citing that the script had undergone major changes and revealed that Vishal would only play a single role, as well as there being an addition of an extra lead actress. Anjali replaced her in the film, and soon after the makers announced that Tapasee Pannu was approached to play one of the two lead female roles.

Prakash Raj and Nithin Sathya were signed on in supporting roles. Tapasee has opted out of the film and was replaced by Varalakshmi Sarathkumar. Sonu Sood plays a leading industrialist who wants to step into politics to taste power. Arya is likely to do a cameo in this film.

Release

The film's theatrical trailer released along with Podaa Podi in theaters and earned mostly positive response from audience. It was planned for a 2013 Pongal release but it has been postponed to Tamil Puthandu due to Vishal's other film Samar's release on the same date.

Finally the movie release has been confirmed for 6 September 2013, along with its Telugu-dubbed version NTR (Nataraja Thaney Raja). The movie is releasing under the Vishal' s own banner VFF.
