Maharaja Story

Maharaja is a 2023 Tamil action drama movie written and directed by Nithilan Swaminathan, in which Vijay Sethupathi, Anurag Kashyap, and Mamta Mohandas starred in the lead roles, along with Natarajan Subramaniam, Abhirami, Munishkanth, Singam Puli, and many others in supporting roles. Jagadish Palanisamy and Sudhan Sundaram produced this film under the banners of Passion Studio and The Route.

Dinesh Purushothaman's cinematography stunningly captures scenes even in dark light, while Philomin Raj's editing is sharp and neat, making the film's outcome impactful. Ajeesh B. Lokanath's music and background score are the film's secret weapons. Anl Arasu's action sequences are top-notch, and Vairamuthu's lyrics for the songs are flawless.

Story

Maharaja is Vijay Sethupathi's 50th film. It was initially referred to as VJS 50, but when the title was announced as Maharaja, his fans were excited, knowing that something special was in store. On September 10, the first-look poster was released. It showed Vijay Sethupathi sitting in a barber's chair with a sharp knife, while police officers with scared expressions waited for him in the background. This gave us a clue that the film would be an action-packed bloodbath.
