Orange Mittai is technically strong too. Biju Viswanath's unique way of narrating a story has worked like a charm in Orange Mittai.
As expected, Vijay Sethupathi stands out in his new avatar. His mannerisms as a crabby old man will make you laugh and cry all at the same time. Kudos to the actor for taking up such a simple yet complicated role and to deliver what is required in a powerful way. His willingness to experiment will only add credibility to his acting career.
Orange Mittai as the name suggests is a bitter sweet film. It emphasizes on a simple yet forgotten rule to live one's life to the fullest. It is also a story that narrates the relationship between a father and a son with a difference.
Vijay Sethupathy pulls off as a 50 year old man quite convincingly; the extra weight that he put on during the days of Soodhu Kaavum seems to be intact and has literally benefited the man for this role.
Director Biju's movies usually contain sentiment and emotional attachment, and Orange Mittai is about two characters, both at North and South Pole come together at the end of the day, a simple journey which was supposed to end in an hour or two makes them bond for life.
Orange Mittai is a simple feel good movie without much fuss and hype silently will enter into your hearts and leave with a small mark.
Verdict : A light hearted film !
