Sila Samayangalil Story

Sila Samayangalil is a Tamil social drama movie, written and directed by Priyadarshan produced by Prabhu Deva and Amala Paul. The movie features Prakash Raj, Sriya Reddy and Ashok Selvan in the lead roles.

The team began filming without an assigned music composer and later signed on Ilaiyaraaja to work on the film's background score. Initially Santosh Sivan was selected to be the film's cinematographer, later movie shoot started with by Sameer Thahir.

Priyadarshan announced that he was working on the script of a film on AIDS with Aamir Khan in the lead role . But ,script completion took longer than expected time, later Aamir Khan and Priyadarshan chose to shelve the project.

In July 2015, Priyadarshan announced that he would instead make the film in Tamil with Prakash Raj and Sriya Reddy in the lead roles.

Sila Samayangalil was selected for the final round of the 74th Annual Golden Globe Awards.
