Thoonga Vanam Story
Thoonga Vanam (aka) Thoongavanam is a Tamil thriller movie direction by Rajesh M Selva. Kamal Haasan, Prakash Raj, Trisha and Kishore plays a lead role in this movie.
Sanu Vargees handles cinematography, while Gibran composes music and Vijay Antony handles editing. Rajesh M Selva earlier worked with Kamal Haasan, he debuts with this movie as a director.
Adapted from the French flick, Sleepless Night, Thoongaavanam has the same plot as that of the original with minute changes in order to suit the Indian audiences.
Kamal Haasan works for the NCB and is quite popular among his contemporaries. His life takes a U-turn when he lands himself in the soup while handling a bag full of hard drugs.
As a consequence, a drug dealer kidnaps Kamal's son. While Kamal tries to retrieve his only kid, he faces yet another crisis.
Without solving the newly emerged problem, he will not be able to get his son back. How Kamal untangles various difficult knots in order to save his son forms the rest of the story.
The film, which was simultaneously shot in Telugu as Cheekati Rajyam with the same cast, was jointly produced by Raaj Kamal Films International and Sri Gokulam Movies.
Suga penned dialogue for this movie. Earlier, he worked closely with Kamal Haasan for Papanasam movie to get the Nellai(Tirunelveli) dialect with the perfection.
Suga has already directed Arya’s production venture Padithurai which is yet to be released. Also, he is known for his series in Ananda Vikatan namely ‘Moongil Mudichu’.
Thoongavanam features one song, "Neeye Unakku Raja" in the metal genre, sung by Kamal Haasan and model-turned-singer C. Aishvarrya Suresh, who both performed its Telugu version as well.
