Like most horror films, Unakkenna Venum Sollu is about a spirit's revenge. But here, the spirit of a young girl needs more than just revenge, it needs answers from the girl's parents on why they chose to abandon her. The film showcases a couple, played by Gunalan and Jaqlene Prakash, moving in to Chennai with their son. They soon begin to experience paranormal activities and thus decide to seek the help of a professional.

Anu, the little girl on whom the entire movie is based, unfortunately gets limited screen space. But she manages to shine whenever she takes the centre stage. Technically this movie is solid, sans songs. But the background score by Siva Saravanan has worked out really well and supports the emotions this movie carries.

Overall, this movie might disappoint if you are a looking for scary moments as a true horror fan. But, manages to score high on the emotional front.
