Simbu has played a happy-go-lucky bloke who spends most of his time with his chum, played by Santhanam. Despite all the sincere efforts by his parents, played by Aadukalam Naren and Sri Ranjani, to turn him into a responsible man
Simbu and Santhanam deserve a special mention as they have added so much value to a weak script.
Dialogues is something that powers this movie from the very beginning till the very end. Interesting one liners with an ability to evoke laughter acts as a huge plus and keeps you hooked.
Overall, Vaalu is yet another usual commercial film which gets saved largely by Simbu's dialogue delivery and Santhanam's laughable comedies.
As the film has been in the making for quite some time, the change in looks of the actors, Santhanam and Hansika particularly, is clearly evident.
The actors aren't required to exert much, given the easy nature of the film. Simbu (as Sharp) is dynamic in every scene and his screen presence and youthful energy power Vaalu ahead, along with Santhanam's typical sarcasm and counters.
Vaalu's intro scene ought to be another popular one, with the references to the popular current-day superstars. And as expected, being a Simbu film, there is a fair share of 'Ajithism' in Vaalu.
Verdict: A watchable commercial film driven by the Simbu - Santhanam duo
