Ajith Kumar 's Arrambam was one of the biggest hits of 2013. After the success of this movie, the Thala is returning with Veeram which has hit the screens today (January 10). Hence the expectations from the movie are very high and the trailers along with promotional materials have just added hype to the growing expectations. Just when the vibrant thoughts of “Thala Deepavali” seems to fade away, here comes “Thala Pongal” and never sumptuously. And again just when the critics start to write of this man – Ajith as someone who knows only to carve a niche in style and chic, here he comes in an out and out commercial entertainer with tremendous colors.
Siruthai Siva as he is called, comes up with a story that is not out of the box, however a racy screenplay and Thala’s immense presence and valor takes the ball out of the boundary. How has it fared out, let’s have a detailed look!
After a spate of movies in which he played the stylish anti-hero, Ajith plays the typically brave son of the soil in Veeram, directed by Siva, of Siruthai fame. The plot of the movie revolves around Vinayagam (played by Ajith) and his courage and lionhearted stance when faced with adversity. The title ‘Veeram’ is justified well, by Vinayagam’s character.
Director Siva and team, have ensured that the movie is not just a showcase of Ajith’s action and heroism but also a good cocktail with healthy comedy and sentiment in good measure.
