AIR Awards for film artists

To encourage the film artists, The All India Radio Kodaikaanal FM announced awards for talented artists yesterday. Instead of selecting them through an appointed panel, the FM has asked the viewers to select the artists on their own choice. On the basis of viewers and listener's vote through phone, the institution has announced the awardees.

Director P. Vasu was selected as the best director for Chandramukhi. Vishal won the best actor award for his role in Sandakozhi, and Pooja won the best actress award for Thambi. A special award was announced for Sneha for her stellar performance in Pudupettai and ABCD. Saravana Subbiah, the director of ABCD also got the special award. Jayam fame director Raja got the special award for his excellent narration of film M Kumaran son of Mahalakshmi.

It is a surprise that the listeners selected Sabesh - Murali as the best music composers for film Thavamaai Thavamirundhu. Composers D. Iman and Srikanth Deva got the special awards in this category. Haricharan won best singer award for Kaadhal. The best comedian award went to Ganja Karuppu for his hilarious show in Ram. Vivek was selected for a special award in this category.
