The
emphatic
success
of
film
Paruthi
Veeran,
won
a
place
for
its
director
ameer
in
the
elite
group
of
creators
in
Tamil
cinema
like
Mahendiran,
Bharathiraaja,
Bala
and
Cheran.
ameer
clearly
proved
a
point
in
that
film.
Cinema
is
a
medium
which
is
totally
controlled
by
the
director.
If
a
hero
gets
a
good
creator
like
ameer,
his
career
graph
will
always
see
an
upswing.
ameer
has
proved
this
fact
through
all
his
previous
films.
Why
I'm
saying
this
is
to
explain
how
the
director
manages
to
get
the
best
out
of
an
actor
as
per
the
requirement
of
the
script.
Take
the
case
of
his
star
selection;
when
he
started
his
film
Mounam
Pesiyathey,
Surya
was
not
a
saleable
hero
at
that
time.
Fresh
treatment,
interesting
twists,
and
the
unexpected
climax
rendered
by
ameer
made
that
film
a
big
hit.
After
this
film
Surya's
commercial
value
has
increased
appreciably.
He
selected
Jeeva
for
his
second
film
Raam,
who
was
considered
an
unlucky
actor
after
3
consecutive
flops.
Though
Jeeva's
father
R.B.Choudry
is
known
to
be
a
trend-
setter
among
the
producers,
he
couldn't
create
any
magic
to
turn
around
the
career
of
this
young
man.
But
ameer
did
it
again
for
Jeeva
through
Raam.
This
film
was
sent
for
participation
in
the
film
festival
held
in
Cyprus
and
won
the
award
in
the
best
film
category.
ameer's
third
film
was
Paruthi
Veeran.
This
time
his
eyes
were
searching
for
a
fresh
face.
When
he
saw
Karthi
in
Shiva
Kumar's
house,
he
named
him
as
Paruthi
Veeran
and
confirmed
his
role
in
the
film
on
the
spot.
Now
everybody
knows
about
the
stupendous
success
of
Paruthi
Veeran.
The
hero
Karthi
is
one
of
the
busiest
heroes
in
Kollywood
at
the
moment.
He
has
got
some
Telugu
offers
also.
Now
ameer's
eyes
are
fixed
on
Jayam
Ravi.
At
present
he
has
two
projects
in
his
mind.
One
is
the
film
Kannabiran.
He
has
planned
to
can
this
film
lavishly
and
it
is
said
to
be
the
dream
project
of
the
director.
However,
he
is
still
searching
for
a
suitable
hero
for
the
film.
Initially
he
planned
to
commit
Surya
for
this
movie.
Surya
also
conveyed
his
willingness
to
act
in
the
same.
But
soon,
differences
arose
between
the
two
over
the
release
issue
of
Paruthi
Veeran,
forcing
them
to
part
their
ways.
Now
ameer
is
looking
for
a
suitable
hero
according
to
the
script
of
Kannabiran.
Some
of
his
assistants
have
suggested
him
the
name
of
Jayam
Ravi
for
Kannabiran.
ameer
also
likes
the
challenges
involved
in
converting
the
homely
image
of
the
hero
Jayam
Ravi
according
to
the
requirement
of
his
script.
He
had
discussions
with
the
editor
Mohan,
father
of
Jayam
Ravi,
and
briefed
him
about
his
story.
ameer
had
sought
6
months
of
continuous
call
sheet
from
Jayam
Ravi.
But
the
hero
found
it
to
be
very
difficult
amidst
his
hectic
schedule
with
the
film
Dham
Dhoom
and
the
remake
of
Bommarilu
with
his
brother
Raja.
For
Jayam
Ravi,
it
is
a
golden
opportunity
to
prove
his
talents
with
an
outsider,
like
director
ameer.
So
he
has
finally
accepted
to
allot
150
days
call
sheet
to
ameer
for
his
new
project.
But
ameer
was
not
satisfied
with
this
limited
call
sheet.
He
wants
some
more
days
to
give
the
final
shape
of
the
screenplay
as
he
wishes
it
to
be.
So
he
has
decided
to
use
the
call
sheet
of
Ravi
for
his
second
project,
which
is
also
based
on
the
life
of
a
real
hero
from
a
southern
village.
The
director
told
us
that
the
editor,
Mohan,
has
also
accepted
this
new
deal.
