AR Rahman redoes Shivaji song

Musical genius AR Rahman has redone a song that was originally in a Sivaji Ganeshan film - Ponmagal Vandhal from Songam. This song will be featured in the Ilayathalapathy Vijay film Azhagiya Tamil Magan. The song was shot on a grand set in Film City in Chennai featuring Shreya and Vijay. The shooting of the song brings to an end the shooting of the film. The films post production work will be taken next week onwards.

Apart from redoing tunes from ATM, the maestro is also redoing tunes for SJ Suryah"s new film New. The song that he chose for the film was the MGR song – Thootal Poo Malarum. The song has become a hit already. ATM is scheduled for release during Diwali 2007. ATM is produced by Swargachitra, Vijay"s production company and is directed by Bharatan.
