Cinema Today Exhibition

'Cinema Today' - an Exhibition organized by Ulagayutha and Buy and Sell at Chennai Trade Center, celebrates seventy years of Indian cinema. This Exhibition will go on till February 18 th at the same venue.

On Friday, this Exhibition was formally inaugurated by Sarath Kumar, President, South Indian Actors' Association. The Secretary of the Association Raadha Ravi, Producer Council President Rama. Narayanan and many other people from the Industry also participated in the inauguration.

The exhibition deals with the latest technical developments on various aspects and departments of filmmaking. Delegates from Singapore, Malaysia, Bangkok, Sri Lanka and Canada also participated in the Exhibition.

Actress Suhasini Mani Rathnam participated as a special invitee and presented a speech on 'Tamil Cinema - A Global View'. Actress Rohini and writer S.Ramakrishnan also participated and readout their papers in the symposium, arranged as a part of the Exhibition.

Suhasini Mani Rathnam told that these kinds of exhibitions are much useful to the youngsters who have a thirst for knowing new developments in the industry. According to her, it will change the mindset of the formula filmmakers also.

Veteran filmmaker and Master of Photography Balu Mahendra, Ashok Kumar, and youngster Vijay Milton, trendsetters of this generation Ravi K Chandran and Rajiv Menon will speak on 'World Cinema' on Saturday.

The Exhibition will conclude on Sunday. D.Jayakanthan, the winner of Gnanapeth award for literature and noted filmmaker of this century will deliver his special speech on the concluding Day. Director Seeman, Parthiban, Cheran, Thankar Bachan would also participate on this day. Buy and Sell people are expecting a large turnout on this Day.

When we Talk to Director Jananathan, one of the organizers of this Exhibition, "the response is very good. I never expected such a grand success on the opening day. It gives more enthusiasm and we will arrange such exhibitions frequently in future'.
