Ace
cinematographer
cum
director
Jeeva
died
of
severe
cardiac
arrest
in
Russia
last
night.
The
44-year-old
filmmaker
was
in
Russia
shooting
for
Dhaam
Dhoom
starring
Jayam
Ravi
and
Kangna
Ranaut.
He
is
survived
by
wife
Annesha,
the
costume
designer
of
Jeeva's
films
and
three
children.
The
mortal
remains
of
the
director
is
expected
to
be
flown
back
to
India
tomorrow.
An
origin
of
Tanjore
(Thiruthuiraipoondi),
Jeeva
came
to
Chennai
in
the
late
eighties
and
worked
hard
to
get
a
place
in
Tamil
film
industry.
He
had
worked
in
over
40
films
including
Gentleman
and
Indian.
So
far,
he
had
directed
3
films
12
B,
Ullam
Ketkume
More
and
Unnale
Unnale.
All
the
three
films
earned
lots
of
accolades
for
the
style
and
different
treatment
and
has
proved
his
prowess
as
director.
Dhaam
Dhoom
is
his
fourth
venture.
He
had
worked
as
a
director
for
more
than
40
commercials
and
10
feature
films
in
Hindi.
Hera
Pheri,
Yeh
Tera
Ghar
Mera
Ghar,
Run,
Kushi,
Hulchul
are
a
few
of
his
cinematography
work
in
Hindi.
He
had
been
associated
with
the
veteran
film
director
Priyadharshan
for
most
of
his
films.
