Kireedom, the highly expected Ajith starrer film is delayed again due to the postponement of Shivaji. Originally the film was slated for release for May 1, on the eve of Ajith's Birthday. At that time Shivaji was expected to hit the theaters on May 17. The Producer of Kireedom Suresh Balaji was not in the mood to compete with the superstar Rajinikanth's film. Continuous postponement of Shivaji has made Kireedam go astray.

When Shivaji was postponed to May 31, Balaji also decided to postpone Kireedom to June 22nd. But Shivaji is once again postponed to June 15. now, the producer is confused as to when to release his film. Sources close to Adlabs, the co-producer of the film said that Kireedam would make it to the theatres by first week of July without any further delay.

The film is the remake of Mohanlal's Malayalam hit Kireedom. The Tamil version has Ajith and Trisha in the lead pair and veteran actor Rajkiran also plays a cameo role. Vijay makes debut as director through this film and G.V.Prakash's musical score is said to be one of the highlights of the film.
