For any actress, it is very hard to find her name in the good books of a dance master. But Trisha has achieved this, and earned the praise of ace dance master Prabhu Deva for her dancing skills. Prabhu Deva says that actress Trisha is one of his favourite actresses in the southern film industry. He has praised the actress as being a good dancer with excellent acting skills as well.
Actor turned director Prabhu Deva met the media for the first time yesterday after his successful stint as a director in southern cinema. Initially he refused to speak on anything, and said that that press meet was arranged just as a thanksgiving to the media representatives for their positive critique. But later, he slowly came up with answers for the journalists' questions.
How do you feel now with your new career as a director?
I never expected to be in my present position as a director. But right from the beginning, I believed that every choreographer has the potential to direct a film. They have enough creativity and novelty to mould a film. Apart from being a director, I'm learning to impart high technology and more interesting scripts for my films. I am really enjoying my new career.
It seems now you are more at ease with the press than ever before...
Yes of course... I'm also getting older and have matured enough to handle people like you!
Do you have any idea to join your brothers Raju Sundaram and Nagendra for a new film once again?
No...certainly not. They are busy with their commitments and there is no necessity for a joint venture at this stage.
As a multi faceted artist in the industry, please rate your heroines...
Oh... this is a tough and embarrassing question. But I hope my heroines will understand me. Trisha is my favourite actress in the southern film industry. She is very cute and is very keen on the sets. Her dancing skills are simply superb. It is not necessary for an actress to being born with dancing skills. If she can simply follow what the master has taught her is enough for a good performance. Trisha has that capacity.
Apart from Trisha, Roja, Simran, Nagma, Sridevi and Maduri Dixit are my favourite actress. They have excellent dancing skills and really stun me with their performances.
Have you felt nervous while doing any project...
Yes... When I was started the project Pokkiri with Vijay, I was a little bit of nervous. Since I know the stature of Vijay, I was under a compulsion to make the film a super hit. And in Tamil, Pokkiri is my maiden venture too. But the fear and nervousness only made me more sincere towards the project.
Tell us about your Dream Project...
It is very big... Yes like any other director, my dream Project will be to direct Rajini Sir, the Super Star of the country. But I feel jittery at the prospect of directing someone like him. When I come out of my inhibitions, I will meet the Super Star with a suitable story. I have plans to direct Kamal sir also.
About your present projects...
At present, I have directed a film in Telugu with Chiranjeevi titled Shankar Dada Zindabad. It is the remake of Hindi hit Lage Raho Munnabhai. I have committed myself for one more project in Hindi for Salman Khan. It will be a remake of Pokkiri.
Why do you prefer remakes only?
Nothing special, it just happened to be so. But I have plans to direct a straight film in Tamil soon!
Have you forgotten your acting career?
No... No...I still have the fire inside me. But I'm waiting for my turn. I will restart my career as an actor after the successful completion of 10 films as a director.
Tell us about your experience with the Super Star in Shivaji...
I have already worked many times with the Thalaivar Super Star. I choreographed the Style... song for him in Shivaji. The song was shot in Spain, and the outcome has been fabulous.
