Pyramid Saimira Theaters Ltd., (PSTL) a corporate film company with the largest chain of theaters in the country has planned to issue a prepaid card for viewers for the first time in the state. The company has owned or leased 371 screens including 29 multiplexes around the country and aims to raise the number to 2000 by the year 2010. It will be launch a Movie Card soon. The Movie Card is a prepaid card which can be used by regular movie goers to get tickets for their favourite films hassle-free.

Last year Sathyam Cine Complex has been launched a prepaid card, namely FUEL, but it was limited for watching movies only in the complex. But a Saimira Movie Card holder can watch the movie in any Saimira group theater across India. Meanwhile the company has purchased the Tamil Nadu theatrical rights of the Parthipan starrer Ammuvagiya Naan for Rs 1.50 Crore. The film is directed by Padmagagan and is produced by Parkar brothers. It is scheduled for release on August 31.

Krishnakumar, a senior executive of Saimira said, "We have got the theatrical rights of Ammuvagiya Naan. We are not in a position to disclose the price given for the films rights." Bharati, a new face, is doing the controversial role of a commercial sex worker in the film. She is said to be bold and daring in the film as the posters and trailer indicate. For Parthipan it is important that Ammuvagiya Naan works, as most of his recent films have been flops including his last one Pachakudhira.
