Rajini and Illayaraaj teaming up!

Many of Illayaraaja's fans have thought that Kamal is the one who is very close to the Maestro. But not many know that Superstar Rajini is also a close friend to him for years and both of them meet as often as twice a month and have long discussions on varied topics but mostly on spiritual things.

Generally Raja's fans thought that Rajini's association with Rahman had created a rift between the two. But the fact is when Rajini approached Raaja for Chandramukhi the maestro decently declined the offer and suggested Vidyasagar for the project. Illayaraaja also blessed the audio of Chandramukhi before its release. Rajini has revealed all these facts at the time of Chandramukhi audio launch.

Now what made the two in the focus of Media is, Rajini met Illayaraaja at his studio a couple of days before. Both have spent at least an hour in Prasad Recording Theater. Kollywood sources say that Illayaraaja had intended to produce a film a year ago but it was held up owing to unknown reasons. Now that Rajini is contemplating his next project, industry sources are speculating a partnership of the two (after a long gap of 12 years - 'Veera' is the last one) whether as composer and actor or as producer and actor!
