Superstar
Rajini's
Shivaji
emerged
as
the
solo
winner
at
end
of
the
year
2007!
Rajini
has
once
again
proved
himself
as
the
uncrowned
emperor
of
Tamil
cinema
through
his
film's
amazing
distributor's
profit
share
of
Rs
8
crores
(For
Chennai
only,
excluding
the
investment
of
Rs
6.2
cr.)
at
the
end
of
the
175th
day
of
Shivaji.
The
overseas
distributors
of
the
film
have
enjoyed
a
never
ever
profit
share
earned
by
Sivaji.
According
to
a
report
in
one
of
the
India's
respected
dailies
Financial
Express
dated
25.12.2007,
Shivaji-The
Boss
is
the
most
searched
film
in
Google
search
engine.
It
is
amazing
that
even
Spiderman-3
is
placed
in
second
after
Shivaji!
(Film
Shivaji:
586000,
Spiderman-
3:
443000
as
on
26th
Dec.2007
)
This
is
enough
to
prove
the
excitement
and
popularity
of
our
own
Superstar
worldwide!
First
time
in
the
90
years
old
Indian
cinema,
a
South
Indian
film
attracted
national
as
well
as
international
viewers
even
without
the
need
of
sub
titles.
The
Superstar's
action-colourful
dance
packed
Blockbuster
has
hit
worldwide
screens
on
June
15
th
in
2
languages
(Tamil
and
Telugu)
in
1400
plus
screens
across
28
countries.
In
India,
only
700
prints
of
Shivaji
were
released
against
450
of
Rajini's
previous
Blockbuster
Chandramukhi!
Almost
all
the
producers
were
stopped
their
films
for
a
couple
of
months
to
avoid
a
collision
with
this
giant.
In
UK,
the
movie
entered
the
Box
Office
and
earned
about
an
average
of
£
14,000
per
screen,
the
highest
ever
for
an
Indian
film
and
the
first
South
Indian
movie
to
enter
UK
Top
10
(#9),
a
real
big
recognition
for
Tamil
movies
in
international
market.
In
USA,
Shivaji
was
released
in
24
theaters
with
19
more
added
subsequently
for
the
Tamil
version
and
21
theaters
ran
the
Telugu
version.
The
audio
of
Shivaji
has
also
created
many
records
in
the
industry.
Within
just
a
couple
of
days,
there
are
150000
mobile
users
downloaded
the
soundtracks
of
Shivaji
and
helped
the
producers
to
earn
Rs.5
cr!
According
to
the
official
press
release
of
AVM,
the
film
has
celebrated
100
days
in
112
theaters
and
silver
jubilee
in
7
theaters
including
3
in
abroad!
So
far
AVM
productions
has
not
revealed
any
official
information
about
the
collection,
the
Box
Office
websites
quoted
that
the
film
has
so
far
collected
Rs.160
crores
worldwide
against
the
Superstar's
previous
record
of
Rs.100
crores
in
Chandramukhi!
Talking
to
our
Special
Correspondent,
SC
Babu,
CEO
of
AVM
agreed
the
record
collection
of
Sivaji.
He
said,
"Yes,
there
is
no
second
opinion
about
the
historical
worldwide
collection
of
our
Superstar
Rajini
sir's
Sivaji,
produced
by
legendary
film
house
AVM.
But
I'm
not
in
the
position
of
disclosing
the
exact
data
at
present..."
Anyhow,
Shivaji
opened
a
new
Royal
gate
to
the
Tamil
films
in
global
market
and
brought
the
industry
in
to
the
limelight.
The
quality
and
big
opening
of
Shivaji
forced
even
the
non
Tamil
film
distributors
too
to
distribute
Tamil
films
in
global
market
