Superstar Rajnikanth's magnum opus Shivaji never goes short of news. It is always in the news for one reason or the other. Now, reliable sources has revealed that it would be released in India with 900 prints and the total prints would go up to 1200 if prints for overseas release are included. Actress Shreya plays Rajini's heroine in this Shankar film.
The film has been in the making since 2005 and is shot in almost five countries including the US and Spain. The Kollywood pundits have revealed that its cost of production might have crossed Rs.50 crores. Production house AVM has not revealed the amount they have got from the Tamilnadu rights of Shivaji but news is doing the rounds that it has been sold for Rs.70 crores to Gemini Labs. It has been sold for Rs.8.5 crores in Andhra and Rs.2.8 crores in Kerala. The film is said to have been sold for Rs.15 crores in Karnataka but the production house has not revealed the exact figure.
It is said that the overseas rights of the film has touched a new mark. More than five distributors are said to have bought it for release worldwide apart from Ayngaran International. Sources close to AVM has revealed that it would come out with 900 prints for release in India alone. The number would go up to 1200 if the prints for overseas release are included.
